Los Angeles (well Hollywood anyway!)

I had heard some less than favourable comments about LA so didn't expect a great deal from Los Angeles and so had only planned to spend a couple of days there before my tour up to San Francisco started. I didn't have time to see all that much of the city really, but was staying in a hostel between Hollywood & Sunset Boulevards so did see a fair chunk of Hollywood! I also went to Universal Studios for the day, which I totally loved! Am obviously a big kid as love all theme parks but stuff like the studio tour made it really interesting too! The studio tour was really well done and took us around a lot of the sets including through Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives! The tour was lead by a guide but also had bits on a Video done by Whoopi Goldberg so was something a bit different! As well as all the rides there were also a lot of shows on things like special effects and a terminator show with 3D stuff which was very cool!

The hostel i was staying was a really good one and had a really good comedy show and other events like BBQs which made it a fun place to stay! Was my first experience of staying in a Youth Hostel and was very lucky as it was a really friendly place and met lots of other people travelling! Cool seeing things like the Kodak Theatre and all the Stars on Hollywood Boulevard. I didn't spot any celebs but apparantly a fair few people at my hostel had, although not entirely sure whether all of those could be believed, as some had been drinking a fair bit too! I defintely should have spent a little bit longer in LA as felt like saw more of the Airport than the city! Still had a lot of fun and enjoyed what time I did have there!
