Day 1: The next day after Egypt, I got up and met Roxy at the hostel. It was so great to see her, and catch up on what's going on back at home. I had missed her a lot! So we caught the train to Paris from London, and made our way to our hostel, which was in the Montmartre. We just walked around a little the first night, and got dinner so it was pretty relaxed. Our hostel was alright, we really didn't meet people but it was nice enough.
Day 2: We decided to go on a free walking tour of Paris, to kind of see where everything was and learn about it. It was really good, and while we didn't go in anything we walked basically all around Paris and ended up at the Eiffel Tower. It was super sunny that day so we lied down in the park near the tower and just relaxed for a while. After that we made our way to the Musee D'Orsay, which was full of impressionist paintings. Some guy gave me his ticket too, so I got in for free! It was really impressive, and the museum itself is in an old train station so it was really pretty. After that we made our way to the Arc de Triomphe, and went to the top. We watched the sun set there and had a good view of Paris and the Eiffel Tower, so that was really nice. On the way home we also stopped by the Moulin Rouge and took some pictures from the outside.

Day 3: We started out by making our way up the giant hill to the Sacre Cour. It was really pretty, but definitely a climb! After that we went to Le Saint Chappelle church, which has the prettiest stained glass and the biggest windows I've ever seen. It was so detailed and intricate, so that was cool. We also saw the place where they held Marie-Antoinette, but not the actual place, because they remodeled it. After that we went to the Notre Dame, and waited in line forever to go up the towers, but it was worth it. We pretended to be hunchbacks up in the bell tower, and got another great view. After that we made our way to the Rodin Museum and saw the Thinker, among his other statues. At this point it started to rain, so that wasn't fun, but we were able to find some shelter at the Museum. We decided that we should stay indoors after that, so we went to the Louvre, and spent a really long time there. We saw the Mona Lisa, which is kind of small but always has a huge crowd, and the Venus de Milo among other things. I really liked the picture of Napoleon crowning his wife empress, because you always see it in History books, and it's HUGE in real life. We basically walked through all of the painting rooms and saw lots of stuff, so my legs were killing me by the end of the day, but it was worth it. Plus, we didn't have to wait in any line whatsoever for the Louvre, so that was really nice. After that we crashed at the hostel, because we had done so much.

Day 4: We got up and made our way to the Georges Pompidou Centre, which is a crazy building but also has the Modern Art Museum. I liked a lot of what was in there but some of it was just weird. After that we walked to the Picasso Museum and saw a lot of his paintings, which was cool. After that we ended up walking around for a couple hours, we passed by where the Bastille was, and had some dinner. We made our way to the Eiffel Tower that night, and didn't even wait in line to go up it. We somehow had really good luck with lines on this trip. Anyway, we were up the Eiffel Tower for over an hour, because it had the best view! The elevator was absolutely terrifying, especially the last one because you just kept going up, but I survived. We took tons of pictures and it was a lot of fun.

Day 5: We decided to go out of Paris, and made our way on the train to Versailles. It was still a little rainy, but that was okay. That place is huge!! The inside was really pretty, but the gardens were just massive! We got completely lost for a while, so I got kind of mad because my legs hurt and were covered with mud, but after some lunch I regained my spirit and we finally figured out where we were going. We made our way to Marie-Antoinette's little complex on the edge of Versailles, which was amazing. I would definitely want to live there. Her house wasn't too big, but her gardens were amazing. She had rivers and grottos and a whole village she built so she could pretend to be a commoner! There was a farm too with a bunch of animals, it was really cool. While we were there the weather got nicer as well, so as we were leaving they turned some of the fountains on (they weren't on before because of the rain) so it was nice to see Versailles with the big fountains going and everything.

Day 6: We decided that no trip to Paris is complete with a trip to Disneyland Paris, so that's where we spent our last day. It's not as good as Disneyland, but it was just funny to hear Disney people speaking French. Like we went on Star Tours, and it was completely in French, so that was hilarious. It was their 15th anniversary that day as well I guess, so at one point they let off a ton of balloons, and we saw some famous French guy, but we didn't know who he was. People were getting his autograph though, so he must have been famous. It was kind of cold and rainy at times, but overall it was really fun.

Day 7: We got up early and made our way to the train station to catch our train back to London. We kind of missed the check in time by around 5 minutes, but they were nice and let us catch the next one without having to pay for a new ticket. So we got back to London, where Polly met up with us and we walked around for a bit. We went to the Tate Modern, which was cool, and then later saw Meet the Robinsons in 3D which was actually a really funny and good movie. It was cool to have my friend from home meet my friend from here, and they got along so i had a good time. Overall Paris was really fun, expensive, but defintely worth it. I would definitely want to live there someday, and get better at French, because mine didn't really cut it there, everyone just spoke English to you even if you tried to speak French.
